Graduate School of Library & Information Science
Founded in 1930, Dominican University's
Graduate School of Library and Information Science (GSLIS) has grown to become one of the nation’s
largest Masters of Library and Information Science degree-granting programs. More than 600
students attend classes in River Forest, Greater Chicago, and St. Paul, Minnesota.
In complement to the MLIS, the Graduate School of Library and Information Science offers the Master of Science in Knowledge Management degree as well as post-graduate certifications in knowledge management, school library media, and special studies.
In addition to its academic programs, the school publishes World Libraries , a unique, free, peer-reviewed scholarly library and information science journal--dedicated to librarians and libraries in newly developing regions, whose goal is to encourage scholarly communication and professional development. GSLIS is also home to the Follett Chair, one of only four endowed chairs in library science in the country.
The next comprehensive review has been scheduled for spring 2015.
